Sacred Heart School of Theology offers an Intensive Spanish language immersion-style program specifically for clergy and others ministering in Hispanic communities.
This is a four-credit course, running six hours a day, five days a week, for four weeks. The day starts with morning prayer in Spanish at 7:30 a.m. It includes classroom sessions covering grammar and conversational skills, computer-based exercises, daily Mass in Spanish, and an informal Spanish-only lunchtime period. Daily sessions conclude at 2:15 p.m.
Flexibility in scheduling may be possible, with reduced credits and tuition.
The 2012 session runs May 15 to June 15.
Prior Spanish language skills are required. The program's faculty will assess each student's suitability.
Tuition and fees total $1,985 if the class is taken for credit, or $960 for those attending on an audit basis.
The program is conducted at Sacred Heart School of Theology, 7335 S. Hwy 100, Franklin, Wis.
