Sacred Heart School of Theology has named Susanna Pathak director of library and academic information services for the seminary’s Leo John Dehon Library.
Pathak served as Associate Director of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Libraries from 2009 to 2011. She comes to Sacred Heart with extensive experience in planning, assessment, and helping organizations be more effective.
From 2000 to July 2009 Pathak was the planning and assessment librarian at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) libraries in Richmond, Va. Her early career as a librarian included five years as a humanities specialist at the Johns Hopkins University followed by four years as head of collection management at VCU.
She holds a bachelor of social work degree, an M.A. in English literature, and an M.L.I.S., all from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
A native Wisconsinite, Pathak has addressed the future of humanities research in published articles and presentations at many conferences, including the Society for Scholarly Publishing and the Modern Language Association.
Pathak's current research includes design and presentation of visual data and service redesign and assessment.
She replaces Eugene Engeldinger, who retired at the end of the fall, 2011 semester.
